The Comic:

Minions for Hire is my second attempt at a comic, succeeding a half-arsed and aborted try years ago that taught me a lot about making comics but never seemed to go in a direction I was satisfied with. It's remarkable how much easier it is when you write out the script in advance. This comic is my clumsy attempt to explore the absurdities of the Fantasy genre, and generally just have fun with characters (if not an entire world) skewed towards the darker side of fantasy morality.

New pages go up every Monday. The comic is divided into Episodes in a mostly-chronological narrative centered on three protagonists, but the episodic format allows me to deviate and explore side stories and other characters at whim.

NOTE: Minions for Hire features mature and suggestive themes, nudity, coarse language, evil triumphing over good, graphic violence, use of drugs and alcohol, and other unsavory things. Thus it is not recommended for children or idealists.

The old version of the comic is available HERE.

The Author:

Howdy! I'm Andrew Moeller, and I write and illustrate Minions for Hire.

I use an Asus EP121 tablet and Photoshop CS4 to sketch, ink, color, and obsessively hand-letter each page. While a Wacom Cintiq would let me work in higher resolutions, I like the mobility of the EP121 which allows me to work in coffee shops and on park benches rather than tethered to my PC. I have little formal training in art, but I like to think my style helps to mask my profound ignorance of anatomy, perspective, and other basics I'm deficient in.

I currently live in Portland Oregon.
